My name is Jo Long and I am the owner and therapist at Bounce Back Canine Massage Therapy Clinic in Gorleston. I am an experienced Level 5 Qualified human Sports Therapist specialising in soft tissue treatments and rehabilitation. I trained with Natalie Lenton of the Canine Massage Therapy Centre in Worcestershire undertaking the two year Clinical Canine Massage Programme.
I understand the impact that soft tissue conditions and injuries can have on the day-to-day life of both owners and their dogs alike. I will work closely with you and your vet during the treatment sessions. I am fully insured and also a member of the Professional Body for Canine Massage Therapists in the United Kingdom, the Canine Massage Guild.
This ensures that I work professionally and ethically, complying fully with the Veterinary Act 1966 and Exemption Order 2015 by gaining Veterinary Consent before undertaking any treatment.

Services
Clinical Canine Massage is a hands-on therapy for physical rehabilitation.
It is a form of remedial bodywork which can address both muscular and joint issues by using a range of therapeutic techniques including the four disciplines of massage.
It can provide relief whilst helping to resolve many sub-clinical, everyday mobility issues you may see as lameness and limping.
It can also help to significantly support Orthopaedic conditions such as Arthritis and Hip Dysplasia.
This unique type of strong, manipulative massage for dogs requires an extensive knowledge of Canine Anatomy and Physiology, the movement of tissue over tissue, connective tissue release and the mobilisation of muscle to help break down scar tissue and promote better range of motion in their joints.

Laser Therapy is an advanced form of treatment for pharmaceutical free pain relief.
It is the use of light (red and infrared) at specific wavelengths to produce therapeutic effects including: reduced pain, improved local circulation, accelerated healing, decreased inflammation and swelling.
The clinic offers treatment with a K-Laser Class IV laser which significantly cuts down the treatment time - a single joint can be treated in around 2.5 minutes depending on the size of the dog and colour of their coat.

Old age is often the usual cause of Spondylosis as well as breed susceptibility.
Degeneration of the shock absorbing intervertebral discs causes abnormal movement along the vertebrae.
The bony changes that take place to the vertebrae help to reinstate the stability to the spine.
This is a chronic disease developing over time.
Instability in the spine caused by degeneration of the discs leads to the formation of bony spurs (also known as osteophytes) on the undersides of the vertebrae.
Certain areas of the spine are more prone to Spondylosis than others.

Lizzie has done three consecutive days on the farm, running around the fields, and isn't limping!
We are very impressed!
Especially as the last massage was a little while ago now.
She isn't on the metacam and hasn't been since you came.
Very happy we have found something to make her comfortable and enjoy being a collie again.
Our whippet Dexter had been what is best described as miserable, he was stiff throughout his back and joints and didn't.want to run with his mates.
After the treatment in which Jo was able to source the problems and then successfully treat him with just 3 sessions he is so happy and playful again with no signs of his previous issues.
