The Osteopath
I received my Master of Osteopathy degree from the British School of Osteopathy in 2011 and I also hold a diploma in sports massage. I firmly believe healthcare should be about the whole person and therefore I take a holistic approach when dealing with my clients. This accords with the fundamental approach of osteopathy which seeks to diagnose the cause of pain through analysis of a person's entire body and lifestyle, not just an isolated symptom.

I am a skilled structural osteopath who uses a variety of techniques which are tailored to each client's particular needs, including functional and visceral techniques. However, the way I practise is directed at more than mere symptom management: it is my intended aim to empower clients through understanding the nature of their diagnosis and the anatomy involved to support them in self-managing their rehabilitation, because prevention is better than cure.

Therefore, I provide each client with recommended exercises to reduce the likelihood of re-injury and to promote general well-being.
Services
Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions.
It works with the structure and function of the body, and is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together.
To an osteopath, for your body to work well, its structure must also work well.
So osteopaths work to restore your body to a state of balance, where possible without the use of drugs or surgery.
What should I wear?
As with any medical examination, to facilitate a full examination of the spine or problem area you will probably be asked to undress to your underwear, so please wear something you are comfortable in.
If you feel more comfortable in a T-shirt and shorts, there are changing facilities available.
Gowns are also available on request.
Can I bring a friend or relative?
Yes - if you wish, you can have someone present throughout your consultation and treatment.
Does it hurt?
Some soft tissue treatment may cause discomfort during treatment.
Being in pain can sap the joy from your pregnancy and no woman should have to endure unnecessary discomfort.
Having a baby can be one of the most momentous and beautiful occasions in your life, however your body undergoes significant changes to accommodate the approximately 20lbs extra weight of your baby and the fluid around it.
It is no wonder then that pregnancy can be associated with pain.
Osteopathy aims to address some of the imbalances that occur during and after pregnancy, thus easing some of the discomfort of pregnancy, aiding in preparing the body for the actual birth process and assisting the mother in recovery after the birth.
Sports massage is a form of massage specifically targeted at the manipulation of soft tissues in anyone participating in regular physical activity, be it on a professional level or just for personal fitness.
These soft tissues include muscle, ligaments, tendons, skin and fascia - basically anything that has not hardened into bone and cartilage.
Sports massage therapists aim to address imbalances in these soft-tissues which result from strenuous or repetitive exercise or injury.
This can be done before or after exercise to enhance performance, prevent injury or aid in recovery from injury.
Situated a short walk from both Balham Station and Tooting Bec Station, ReCentre Health is on the corner of Balham High Road and Marius Road.
Alongside osteopathy, a whole host of complementary therapies are available, including physiotherapy.
There is even a studio where we offer pilates, yoga and better back classes.
