Tim Sutton Sports Massage
I've been a qualified soft tissue therapist since 2005 & built my practice into a very busy clinic. Through my passion for running & being able to treat soft tissue injuries, I get real satisfaction in helping my clients back to good health, whether it be sport or everyday life. I studied for my BTEC Diploma at the London School of Sports Massage, with Mel Cash, as my main tutor.

Runners World Spring Training Camps each March. I've also done some pacing for Runners World at the Virgin London Marathon running as the 8min/mile pace setter. I've sponsored several events for Deal Tri & currently The Cliff Top Challenge. My own activities include being a member of Invicta East Kent AC, running a mixture of road & cross country.

I was lucky enough & trained hard enough to represent my County Kent on several occasions & as a reserve in the England team for the British & Irish Cross Country Championships. Now I run mainly off-road with Merlin my dog & just the odd parkrun.
Services
I've had appointments with Tim since the London marathon in 2006.
I've always found him happy to share his knowledge & I'm sure this has helped keep injuries to a minimum.
I've recommended him to friends & family & they've had good results too.
Thank you so much for your help and support during my training - I really enjoyed being your customer!
Wishing you all the best and hope we will cross paths again at a marathon somewhere.
Hi Tim, just to let you know that my shoulder is feeling fantastic now, many thank for your help.
Below are just some of the questions I get asked, if your question is not coverd please get in touch below & I shall be happy to answer any questions you might have.
A; The Chartered Society of Physiotherapist was initially formed by a group of remedial massage therapists, so about 100 years ago there was no difference.
But remedial massage has many clinical limitations and, quite rightly, physiotherapy began to develop techniques, procedures and equipment to overcome some of those limitations.
This can be tailored to meet the requirements of your sport, dealing with any soft tissue injury you might have & to prepare you for competition.
As training increases session's may become more frequent, so that you don't pick up any injuries.
I can also show you how to stretch properly & give advice on training.
I'm able to email you rehabilitation exercises for you to follow & do at home.
This will leave you in the best shape for the big day.
This can be used in a wide range of situation's from simply preventative treatment to working at a desk to post operative care caused by surgery.
This is a speciality within remedial massage that uses (ISRM believes) the same range of clinical skills.
Many 'so called' sports injuries have much to do with an athlete's posture and/or other factors outside of their sport, and the distinction between the two is often unclear.
The real difference with sports massage is the focus on recovery from training and the early identification and treatment of potential soft tissue problems.
With a thorough assessment of the condition of the athlete's soft tissues through massage, the therapist can monitor how he or she is responding to training.
Static stretching is used to stretch muscles while the body is at rest.
It is composed of various techniques that gradually lengthen a muscle to an elongated position and then hold the position for 20 seconds.
During this holding period you would feel the stretch in the muscles.
Static stretching exercises involve specialised tension receptors in our muscles.
When done properly, static stretching slightly lessens the sensitivity of tension receptors, which allows the muscle to relax and to be stretched to greater length.
