Massage In Bristol With Saskia Chaplin
Hello, my name is Saskia Chaplin and I am an experienced bodywork practitioner working in Bristol. I am able to draw on different skills and techniques, combining them with sensitivity to adapt to your needs. I have trained in Holistic massage, Thai massage, and Ayur Yogic massage as well as the subtle and profound focus of Craniosacral Therapy. These treatments can be experienced individually or, in some cases, integrated.

Feel free to contact me to discuss the treatment plan that best suits you. I am also able to offer Massage Tuition to couples and friends, sharing simple techniques for you to share massages in a way that is enjoyable and effective and won't tire out the giver!
Services
I invite you to come back into your body, understanding the inter-relationship with body and mind.
I believe these sessions are at their most effective as a participatory experience; where the receiver actively 'receives' through awareness, intention and breath.
I qualified in Holistic massage with the Bristol College of Massage & Bodywork (BCMB) in 2002.
Since qualifying with BCMB I have continued my professional development with advanced training including; Mobilising Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, and Freeing The Shoulders.
With these massage treatments (see craniosacral for benefits specific to this therapy) new life will be brought to your tired muscles; easing knots and tensions, detoxifying, improving circulation, aiding posture, bringing breath awareness, deep relaxation or you can simply enjoy a pampering treat.
At an emotional level these therapies provide caring and non-intrusive touch to soothe your mind and reduce stress and anxiety.
Arthritis (Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, and Ankylosing Spondylitis) in subacute stages, to help maintain flexibility and relieve pain.
As part of your first visit I will take a confidential consultation.
This allows me to build up a picture of you so that I can create the best possible session to suit your needs.
It is important to tell me about any constant or recurring conditions, injuries and serious ailments that you may have or any medications you are taking.
We will then agree a treatment plan.
It is always important to let me know of any changes to your health in subsequent sessions.
The toxins brought out by the massage treatments go into the blood stream for the body to expel.
For our first session, where possible it is helpful to book in at least an extra 15 minutes to allow for our initial consultation.
This means that you will get a decent amount of hands on time.
As a basic guide: 1 hour allows for an in-depth focus over one area or a full body massage, 1 hour 15 minutes may allow for a full body massage with focus in a particular area, 1 hour 30 minutes enables more detailed focus over your whole body, and 2 hours is a great treat for a very relaxed pace with lots of detail all over.
Touch is a basic human need, and nurturing touch is fundamental to our well being; simply noticing how a parent responds to their injured child or a person rubs an area immediately after hurting it, is simple proof of this.
There are many types of touch therapies, massage therapy being one of the more commonly known generic terms.
