Acupuncture is a system of medicine which restores and maintains health by the insertion of fine needles into specific points on the surface of the body.
This action stimulates the body to rebalance itself by activating our own recuperative and self-healing powers.
Traditionally, acupuncture is seen as redirecting the vital energy of the body - the Qi (pronounced 'chee' in Chinese) which flows continuously around the meridian system, an energetic network of channels that not only connects the acupuncture points to each other but also directly influences the functioning of the internal organs and other controlling systems of the body.
Massage is one of the oldest and universal of the healing arts.
Massage can relieve stiffness, soreness and tension, it's primary physical benefit being to the muscular, circulatory and eliminatory systems.
A holistically trained practitioner integrates the mind, the body and the spirit of the client treating the whole person not just their symptoms, massage when sensitively and skilfully given generates feelings of harmonious well being in which the healing energies of the body can be released.
Herbal Medicine is the use of remedies derived from plants to treat disease.
It is the oldest and still the most widely practiced form ofmedicine in the world today.
Herbal Medicine, is based on our traditional medicinal heritage.
Throughout the years, medicinal plants have been introduced from around the world for their particular and valuable therapeutic effects.
The balance of active constituents contained in each plant has been found to impart specific and individual actions on the body.
Some plants have a particular affinity to certain organs or systems and a herbalist will use this knowledge to help to restore the body back to its optimum balance and health.
